The Dishes Are Done, Man!
David bought me a waffle-maker for Christmas. I've made waffles every day since!! I love it. Today I made whole wheat honey waffles for lunch! I topped them with homemade honey butter, homemade whipped cream and a drizzle of honey. They were AMAZING! And don't let the "homemade" part get you down, it was seriously EASY - anybody can do this. Kenny makes delicious waffles in this movie...
You will need:
(Batter)
2 c. whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ginger
2 eggs
1 c. milk (or more if it's too thick)
1/4 c. honey
(Honey Butter)
1/2 c. heavy cream
1 tbs. honey
(Whipped Cream)
1/2 c. heavy cream
1/4 c. sugar
Mix all batter ingredients together until combined and pourable. Pour onto waffle-maker and cook according to it's instructions - mine says not to open until steam is no longer visible. To make butter - put cream and honey in a bowl and use your electric mixer to mix. It will first turn into whipped cream, keep mixing until it falls and turns into butter - a few minutes. To make the whipped cream, put cream and sugar in bowl and mix with electric mixer until firm peaks are made. Once I topped the waffles with the butter and whipped cream I drizzled on some more honey. Enjoy!
